Remember that spooky music from "The Shining" as the car carrying Jack
Nicholson and his family heads up the mountain to the resort? That's some
of the music the ASO will be playing on this concert tour of hell. Mozart's
Don Giovanni mocks a statue of a murdered man who shows up later to drag
him down to the underworld. Belioz' symphony tells a somewhat similar story
of a drug-crazed composer who kills his girlfriend, is hanged, and finds
his love to be the queen of the witches in hades. An you thought classical
music was only about the well-mannered! Student tickets $8 on sale 4/3;
if tickets remain, $12 for faculty/staff beginning 4/10 |
